First Ever 2021 BBZ JC Boat Marshal Event. Rob Clausen Takes 1st Place!
As we finished out this year’s 2021 Bass Cat Boats, BBZ JC World Finals where Evan Cox from CO takes home a new Bass Cat Bobcat loaded with a Mercury motor, Lowrance graphs, MotorGuide Tour, Power-Pole and a Yolotek, we wanted to thank the volunteer boat marshals for their support in this event.
On Sunday Oct 31th we had our first ever Boat Marshal tournament on Lake Taneycomo. We were greeted with cold foggy conditions and a brutal post front day from a week of cold rain and wind. Just like the day before for the BBZ JC state winners, these boat captains had to work hard to find fish that would bite.
The hammer Rob Clausen dropped a 3.08 pound bass on the scale and though it may not have been a monster bass, his smile tipped the scales at just over 12 pounds. We figured that was about a 100.00 a pound and his first place check mirrored that amount. Plus he walked away with a custom bass Trophy Online plaque from Ross Myers BTO.
Coming in second was none other than Lady Melissa (Flipping Queen) McCalmant with a solid 2.92 pounder and a well deserved check for a girls night out for all of her hard work that totalled 800.00. Remember Lady M. Tony gets none of that cash ;). PS, She also caught a bigger fish than Tony.
Topping out the 3rd place spot was Cory Buller Mr. BCB (Bass Cat Boats) with a 2.78 bass and 500.00 towards gas money and braggin rights for the trip home with his son Josh that was a state winner for OR. Yes Pops caught a bigger bass than Josh……. Sorry Josh, I had to do it..
Finishing out the top 5 are Tony McCalmant and this year’s Emcee for the BBZ JC at 2.64 and Mark Tubbs and boat and valet coordinator for this years event at 2.58. Both Tony and Mark walked away with TackleDirect Gift Cards for 100 and 50 respectfully.
First out of the money was LeDon Scaksteder with a 2.40 but all of us want to thank him for driving all the way from ID to help out with this event and without him the BBZ JC would just not be the same.
