Fishing University’s Charlie Ingram teams up with SPRO’s Bill Siemantel, the BBZ-1 Rat lure line designer. They are in a Rat Race against Michigan’s smallmouth bass while competing with Fishing University’s Ray Brazier and B.A.S.S. Open Pro angler Garrett Paquette.

During this challenge, both teams are using the SPRO BBZ-1 Rat 25. Unlike its predecessors, the Rat 50, 40, and 30, the Rat 25 is a subsurface, diving to approximately 2.5’ depth, segmented square-bill lure.

During the competition, Siemantel successfully used a push-button closed-faced reel, a typical set-up for many kids just beginning to learn to fish. He proves that the BBZ-1 Rat 25 is a perfect bait for any angler, from a kid to a seasoned professional, high-end equipment is not essential.
