Stanton’s Bluefin Trevally

IGFA Captain Allan Stanton landed this beautiful 62-centimeter bluefin trevally to set the IGFA All-Tackle Length Fly World Record for the species while fishing Cosmoledo Island in the Seychelles on November 15, 2022. Stanton landed the record trevally after a 12-minute fight, and he released the fish after taking the proper photos and measurements on his official IGFA Measuring Device.

Perez’s Speckled Peacock

Hector Perez was fishing the Rio Tomo in Colombia on February 6, 2023, when he landed this 8.16-kilogram (18-pound) speckled peacock, setting the IGFA Men’s 15-kg (30-lb) Line Class World Record for the species. After recording the weight on a certified scale, Hector released the record peacock safely. Fishing alongside Hector on this trip, and a witness to this record catch, was Kansas City Royals catcher and MLB All-Star Salvador Perez!

Bin’s Giant Snakehead

Shamsul Azmi Bin was fishing the waters of Rawang, Malaysia, on New Year’s Day when he landed this incredible 13.61-kilogram (30-pound) giant snakehead, setting the IGFA All-Tackle World Record for the species as well as the IGFA Men’s 15-kg (30-lb) Line Class World Record for the species. Shamsul landed the massive snakehead in just five minutes after it crushed the crankbait he was casting, and he released the fish alive after recording the proper documentation.

Hattori’s Blackfin Seabass

On December 11, 2022, Shinji Hattori was fishing the shoreline of Omaezaki, Japan, when he landed this impressive 79-centimeter blackfin seabass to set the new IGFA All-Tackle Length World Record for the species. Shinji was casting a plug when this record seabass struck, and he quickly landed, measured, and released the fish after a short fight.

McReynolds’ Brown Trout

With this beautiful 69-centimeter brown trout, Christy McReynolds set the new IGFA All-Tackle Length Fly World Record for the species. McReynolds was fishing in Bluff City, Tennessee, US, on February 26, 2023, when this brown trout ate her fly. Christy was fishing alongside guide Jason McReynolds when this record brown struck. After recording the proper measurements on her official IGFA Measuring Device she released the fish safely. Prior to this trout, Christy held a tie for the All-Tackle Length Fly World Record for the species with a 65-centimeter fish.
