NOW ACCEPTING ENTRIES FOR THE ATLANTIC SHARK ART CONTEST

To celebrate 30 years of successful U.S. Atlantic shark fisheries management, NOAA Fisheries is launching a campaign focused on providing fact-based shark information to the public. To kick-start this campaign, we are inviting kindergarten through eighth grade students to participate in our Atlantic Shark Art Contest to help raise awareness about Atlantic sharks. Students from all U.S. states and territories in recognized public, private, and home schools are eligible to participate.

Artwork should highlight federally-managed Atlantic shark species and address at least one of the three themes:

  • The important role Atlantic sharks play in their ecosystem to support healthy oceans and fisheries.

  • The diversity of Atlantic sharks and their habitats.

  • The unique biological characteristics of Atlantic sharks.

The winning artwork will be featured in a 2024 Atlantic shark calendar.

Details on entry requirements, submissions, winning artwork, and more can be found on the NOAA Fisheries website.
