GUY HARVEY FOUNDATION RENEWS SUPPORT FOR THE ART OF CONSERVATION FISH ART CONTEST

White Bear Lake, MN – Wildlife Forever is excited to announce The Art of Conservation Fish Art Contest has partnered with the Guy Harvey Foundation for the 2022-2023 contest. The partnership will continue to spotlight the Guy Harvey Shark Award, featuring four critical shark species.

“The Guy Harvey Shark Award aims to spread awareness about the important role of sharks in the ocean ecosystem and the perils they are facing. Art has huge potential as a pathway to conservation, and this opportunity allows students anywhere in the world to get involved,” said Greg Jacoski, Executive Director of the Guy Harvey Foundation.

Art eligible for the Guy Harvey Shark Award must depict a Mako, White, Bull, or Tiger Shark, and include a written component relevant to the chosen species. The Fish Art Contest is open to youth Kindergarten – 12th grade from anywhere in the world. One student artist will be chosen as the Guy Harvey Shark Award winner and will receive a print signed by Dr. Harvey (up to a $200 value) and be eligible to win additional awards and recognitions. The deadline to submit entries to the Fish Art Contest is February 28th, 2023.

“We are grateful that the Guy Harvey Foundation has renewed their support. Connecting students to conservation is more important than ever and we are excited to follow in the footsteps of Dr. Guy Harvey by using artwork to achieve that goal,” said Pat Conzemius, President and CEO of Wildlife Forever.

This award pairs well with Guy Harvey Collections – Sharks: a new education initiative developed as a collaboration between the Guy Harvey Foundation and the Florida Department of Education. The Guy Harvey Collections are STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) lessons for K-12 students anchored in Dr. Harvey’s art.
