FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Castaic CA, January 30, 2020
Bassmaster Will Return as Presenting Sponsor for the 2020 BBZ Junior Championship
After the conclusion of last year's spectacular event, B.A.S.S. and Bill Siemantel partner again.
The 2019 Championship was well-received by all. This groundbreaking tournament, designed to bring a national stage for young anglers all across our nation, exceeded all expectations. Anglers age 13 through 19 qualify to compete in this coming year’s event. A low fee of $25 for a single state entry or $50 to enter nationally and qualify from any state except Alaska, includes a year’s subscription to Bassmaster Magazine.
This tournament is a grassroots event; designed to provide young competitors with an equal format. You don’t have to fish from a bass boat to qualify. Shore anglers, kayakers, float tubers, boaters, anyone can win any state, earning a spot in the Championship. January 1st through August 1st is the qualifying dates. The Championship takes place on October 2nd and 3rd at the Hosting Sponsor’s beautiful Willows Club Anglers Inn International, Priest River Idaho.
Anglers can fish anywhere, on their schedule, and have a shot at the Big Bass Zone Junior Championship. Last year’s stellar prizes totaled $370,000.00, and included a fully rigged Bass Cat Margay, Bethel University Scholarships, Anglers Inn International trips to Mexico and the Amazon and more. You’re already bass fishing, give yourself a shot at the bigger and better 2020 BBZ JC. The inaugural event was incredible. The stories of how dedicated these young anglers and their families were to qualify and compete were matched only by Bill’s dedication and hard work that made this event successful.
B.A.S.S. is excited about the continued partnership with this event. There is no doubt that the 2020 BBZ Junior Championship will be even bigger and better, and that through this tournament, more kids will be introduced to sportfishing. B.A.S.S. is excited about the continued partnership with this event. There is no doubt that the BBZ Junior Championship will be even bigger and better next year, and that through this tournament, more kids will be introduced to the sport that we love so much.

Bill Siemantel / The Big Bass Zone -
My passion for fishing was a byproduct of my father's love for the outdoors. The spark was getting on the water. You can call fishing with my dad a type of gateway drug.
When I was eight years old, that spark became a fire when I caught my PB at the time, 8.8-pound bucket, in addition to reading and watching Bassmaster every chance I could. Fast forward 44 years and the love for the sport has not wavered. Now it's time to help young anglers find their spark and turn their passion into flames.
The announcement of Bassmasters to present Siemantel's Big Bass Zone Junior Championship is a dream come true for so many anglers and their parents; it's so fitting going into the 50th anniversary of B.A.S.S. Bassmaster has a tagline of Big Bass, Big Stage, Big Dreams and as this group of industry leaders join forces to help the future of bass fishing, it's hard to question how the stars are aligning.
