Going From Fishes To Riches: Southern California Angler Follows His Own Path To Success
If you know anything about the history of big baits and bass fishing in Southern California, then you have ran across a famous, family owned fishing shop called J&T Tackle in Simi Valley. They closed their doors in April of 2012 when the rise of the internet and online tackle stores reeked havoc on the brick and mortar community. Prior to that it was one of the #1 destinations to shop for both fresh and salt water gear. This was the place to go, from beginners to top pro's, to get their hands on proven tools and learn about new techniques in the fishing world. This included the hay-day of the big bait era and the start of lure designers building baits as long as a mans forearm.
"What ever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve" Napoleon Hill
This quote should resinate with the hard core bass fishermen that dreams about catching bass so big that they will haunt their dreams. With lures as large as tree branches and rods and reels that are better suited for saltwater use. Things began to change in the fishing industry in the early to mid 90's and for a young man running around their family tackle story, Sean saw it coming first hand. "In the mist of the big bait craze, I watched certain anglers go against the grain and target monster bass with lures more suited for the salt water. Their commitment and die hard attitude to catch a double digit bass was unwavering. Now looking back at those few anglers, as well as myself, we were all following the basic premiss of Napoleon Hill's quote: What ever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve." -Sean
The Moves In Life That Defines A Mans Journey
As the year 2010 approached and being one of Southern California trophy bass guides at that time, Sean saw a paradigm shift within the California water ways. An invasive species called quagga muscle was threatening many of his local lakes and with lake lockdowns and mediatory quarantines the flexibility and reasonability of being a guide for him was lost. Like most of us in life, Sean found himself at a crossroads and asked a simple question, what do I do now? His passion for bass fishing was strong, but he needed to make a move towards a new adventure. Sean did something that would be hard by any fisherman's standards. He sold his boat and gear so he could focus 100 percent and started down another career path. How many of you hard core fish-heads can park your boat and set out on a new path in life? Knowing full well that the internet was here to stay, Sean changed directions and became a digital marketing and branding specialist, and in doing so he has worked with some of the biggest companies on achieving their success in this new media age, the likes of CNN, TNT, TBS and Nascar to name a few.
Taking Another Chance: Too Good To Be True
As Sean success grew, more doors opened and he found himself in a position to stop everything once again. Just as he had done to move away from bass fishing to follow a path in the digital market place, he was to embark on yet again a new journey in life. An opportunity to drop everything he was doing to be apart of something that sounded too good to be true. He was approached to see if he could produce and work on a best selling novel from author Napoleon Hill's "Think And Grow Rich". This timeless book has all the principles that can help one achieve their ultimate success in life. Sean knew all the hard work he had done in the prior years getting to this point would pale in comparison. He partnered with his lovely wife, Karina and friend Joel Franco and they formed "Think Rich Films". After countless hours of hard work, his team has produced one of the most anticipated docudramas ever to come out to help ordinary people to achieve extraordinary goals. From one of the all time best selling books "Think And Grow Rich", Sean and his team have created something truly special.

Bill, here is a blast from the past. Below is an advertisement from our 1999 big bass seminars. If you recall I asked you to be one of our guest speakers at J&T along side some very well known anglers as well. It's funny how far we both have come and the things we have both accomplished. Though I have not been able to find much time to get back out on the water (this will be changing soon). I have kept up with you and have watched your achievements within the fishing industry. Being inducted into the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame, designing lures, writing a book, making a swimbait DVD and teaching others how to catch fish, you my friend are living "Think And Grow Rich" first hand. Wishing you continued success. -Sean
