Hey Guys,

Josh Wray here, the Visit Mammoth dude.

BIG NEWS UPDATE FOR MAMMOTH LAKES

Mammoth Lakes is going to be the most stocked town in California for fishing. Between the Town of Mammoth Lakes and Mammoth Lakes Tourism, MORE THAN $100,000 worth of fish will be stocked this season. Nearly 10 TONS of trout will go into your favorite bodies of water. So if big fish, lots of fish and some peace and quiet with a good view is what you want, that’s what you’ll get.

Well Fishmas was a huge success. BIG fish and BIG memories. There was a light snowfall that continued all weekend, but that did not keep the anxious anglers away.

The second largest trout of the weekend was caught out of Convict Lake weighing in at 9lbs 10oz. That was caught by John Montgomery out of Bishop, CA.

Lots of slabs were hooked at Convict along with The June Lake loop proving very successful. Alan Cole hooked what was the largest fish so far this season out of Bridgeport at Lower Twin Lakes.  Check it out below.

June is approaching quick don’t forget that June is #LearnToFish month.

Share the love of fishing with your friends and family. Invite someone who has never fished before to cast a line with you in your favorite waters. You know the relief you feel leaving the hustle and grime of the city to fish the Eastern Sierra. You know the joy rising early or staying out late to fish your "secret" spots. You remember the excitement catching your first fish and the awe of landing that monster trout hanging on your wall. Share those exciting, peaceful and one of a kind moments with a loved one. June is Learn To Fish Month. It just takes one time out on the water reeling in a fish while taking in the views to get someone hooked on fishing.
