The Shine Glide is available in two sizes, 5 1/4" weighing 1 ounce, and 7 1/4" weighing 2 1/4 ounces. Both sizes have a slow sink rating. The 5 1/4" model is equipped with two #4 trebles, and the 7 1/4" size features #1 treble hooks. Depending on where you purchase these lures the smaller model retails for $18.99 and the larger version sells for $24.99.
A three-dimensional scan of a Golden Shiner produced the profile of this swimbait. Making this a perfect lure selection when emulating large baitfish such as juvenile squawfish, of course, a golden shiner, and hitch to name a few bigger menu items.
This slow sinking gliding lure has an arbitrary motion. Popping the rod tip will increase the darting action and is effective with a twitch and stop retrieve. Constructed with foam dampers on the baits joint produce a ‘silent’ swim. Retrieving the Shine Glide, like all lures, awaits your creativity, be the prey. Undoubtedly, this bait will deceive a variety of game fish. I’m sure the larger model with some hardware modifications will appeal to muskellunge species and saltwater predators too.
Here is an excellent video with Savage Gear’s Production Manager Mike Bennett as he reviews the Shine Glide and underwater footage demonstrating this lures movement.
