It is essential to be prepared to fish at your highest abilities; fishing well is a measure of efficiency. You want your hooks to only stick fish, and not stick your Pro’s boat, or tangle other rods, fishing line and most importantly you.
Wasting time untangling rods is one thing, but the last thing you want to happen is a hook in your body. Anybody who has sat in the passenger seat of a bass boat on a large body of water, without speed restrictions, during larger competitions knows the passenger gets moved around a lot, sometimes violently!
Motoring on Lake Mead through the narrows, boat wakes bounce off the canyon walls and come back towards the center of this narrow channel. Waves go out at the same time as they come back, the entire passage is covered with surface chaos, even on a flat calm day.
If you get hooked, and there are high winds and dangerous waves it is probably unsafe for the boater to stop driving without risking everybody’s safety and the boat. At that point, you are just going to have to wait and take the beating while connected to a lure.
These treble hooks, wrapped, are directly next to my leg, and if the boat has a dual console, the margin for error has significantly increased. That is why I use Eye Surrender Baits Wraps whenever I’m on the water, big or small. Not only is it the best wrap for the job, but they also make me efficient and, most importantly, they keep me safe.
There is a size for the widist range of lures. Available at Tackle Warehouse http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Eye_Surrender/catpage-EYE.html
