Angler’s Marine Bass-A-Thon 2016

Angler’s Marine Bass-A-Thon 2016

Each November in Anaheim California, Rick Grover puts together the West Coast’s largest bass fishing show. The list of professional anglers that speak and walk the show is always impressive, and Grover once again delivered.

When the Pros aren’t speaking on stage, they walk the floor and are very approachable. Where else can you meet Hall of Fame anglers and Elite Tournament champs like Rick Clunn, Shaw Grigsby, Jimmy Houston, Johnny Johnson, and Chris Zaldain in the same day?

There were other prominent professionals including, but not limited to, Mr. BBZ/Bill Siemantel a Hall of Famer and Bassmaster Champion, Jimmy Reese Bassmaster/FLW Champion, Greg Gutierrez Bassmaster/FLW Champion, and another U.S. Open Winner Southern California Bass Guide Rusty Brown.

In addition to all the awesome people you meet the Bass-A-Thon provides lure and equipment manufacturers the opportunity to showcase new products. At the show, you have the unique ability to handle products and speak directly with experts.

Curt Arakawa of Diawa, explaining the excellent features of the new Tatula CT bait-casting reel. This reel sports a lower profile with stout components that include the T-Wing System and a low price at about $130.00. The T-Wing System is a two-position line guide. During the cast, spool disengaged, the line guide changes position increasing in size providing less friction and longer casts. With the reel gears engaged the line guide changes back to a traditional small round guide.  http://www.daiwa.com/us/

John Sherman of Simms demonstrates new tackle bags. They’ll work for anyone, but the large model is made to drop directly into the Co-Angler’s back deck compartment. Simms has an excellent line of footwear, and they’re debuting their new light weight rain gear featuring a lower price point. https://www.simmsfishing.com/

Jimmy Reese demonstrates sonar technology at the interactive Lowrance booth. http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/m/

Rick Grover and Anglers Marine put on an outstanding event. There is much to see and do at a Bass-A-Thon, I find it hard selecting my favorite part. Yet year after year I always look forward to seeing friends old and new, and that’s the greatest aspect of the show.

See you next year!
