Top Water Funnel

Top Water Funnel

This Pyramid Lake Tern can't resist the SPRO 6” BBZ-1 swimbait.

One of the most omnipresent funnels on any body of water is the very top of the water column, the surface. Many of you know what a funnel is. If you're not aware of this BBZ term and it's dynamic you owe it to yourself to find out. Funnels; look for them, learn how to position yourself and how to enter them, learn when to be there and when to exploit them because the funnel is where you get bit.

Terns are graceful sea birds and some like the one trying to make a meal of my swimbait favor inland freshwater lakes. As for my swimbaiting abilities I at least have this bird fooled. So much so I was able to time repeated aerial attacks. This T-Bird wanted my swimbait very badly, it was the Tern's idea and that is the very same thing I'm trying to convince the bass of. (Aerial  photo by Original Daddy)

The bird's first attack was startling as it occurred right next to the boat at the end of the retrieve, man talk about a blow up!
